Yoga at Stonehaven
If you haven’t yet joined us at Stonehaven, we hope that you will come and enjoy our beautiful yoga room. We will now be offering two classes each week. Jenni Kay will be teaching Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 and Rachel will be teaching Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30. The classes will be taught in four week series. The cost of each series is $40, or you can drop in on any class for $15.
Awareness of the Winter Self: Tuesdays in January (3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th) from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
As the darkness of winter surrounds us, we will enjoy a period of reflection on who we are and what we desire to create this new year. The class will be a combination of discussion, asana (yoga poses), and relaxation, with a long period of meditation.
Chakra work will be integrated into the classes and students will enjoy the benefits of relaxation techniques such as Yoga Nidra. We will also discuss the practicalities of winter nutrition and learn postures that will help us to stay warm throughout the cold months.
Yoga for the Winter Blues: Wednesdays in January (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th) from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
As the hustle and bustle of the holidays slows down, we often experience a lull in energy and spirits. Days are shorter, temperatures drop, and our body and mind often respond negatively to the dark, cold winter season. In fact, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is episodes of depression, most commonly experienced during the winter season. This can occur in people not otherwise inclined to depression.
This four week yoga series will focus on winter nutrition, mindful practices, healthy routines, and energetic yoga poses/flows to combat symptoms of SAD and bring warmth, awareness, and renewed light into your being.
