Sabbath Conversation – Sunday May 14 3.00-5.30pm

May 10th, 2011 (No Comments)

Join us for tea and a ‘Sabbath Conversation’ with Uli and Carol.

The wisteria is in full bloom and new blossoms are exploding open every day.  If you feel like the garden – exploding with activity – overwhelmed – by all that is happening  inside and outside your world, come and learn f rom the remarkable insight and gift of Mary Oliver. We will be looking at selections from her book, Thirst.  Forty-three poems on attention, wonder, faith, and grieving.

Here is a selection from “Messenger”

My work is loving the world.

Here the sunflowers, there the hummingbird—
equal seekers of sweetness.
Here the quickening yeast; there the blue plums.
Here the clam deep in the speckled sand.

Are my boots old? Is my coat torn?
Am I no longer young, and still not half-perfect? Let me
keep my mind on what matters,
which is my work…..

which is mostly standing still and learning to be

Please let Carol know if you are
